Hairline Reconstruction

We offer a non-surgical solution for hair loss with guaranteed results and no downtime. The best results are achieved with shaven or very short hair.

One of the most critical decisions will be the creation of a suitable hairline; as the leading Micropigmentation Clinic, we can restore your hairline in an undetectable way, creating the most natural hair follicle simulation. As the hairline will be the focus point of the treatment, we advise you to choose an experienced artist with many years in the Micropigmentation Industry. Our highly experienced Technician has a very artistic eye and will create a bespoke hairline for every client, tailored to their individual needs and preferred style. Our accomplished expert practitioner will subtly layer different shades of pigments to achieve this and design the exact hairline to suit your facial features, ensuring the design is age-appropriate.

The softer your hairline, the more natural the results will be. A straighter and more edged hairline will give the appearance of a freshly clipped style and suit darker skin tones better. The procedure is similar to permanent make-up or body tattooing, where small amounts of pigments are implanted into the dermal layer of the skin with microscopic needles to get the most realistic results. The result of the stubble effect lasts 3-5 years before a touch-up is needed. The style we recommend depends on the stage of hair loss. In most cases, it is best to go with the shaven look and keep the hair short, clipped, or shaven to get the best results. Our innovative high-end Hair Follicle Simulation (HFS) technique is internationally recognised and pursues more than the goal of enhancing people’s beauty for aesthetic reasons. When applying HFS, Julia can create the finest outlines, precisely pigmented areas and a purely natural look quickly. Many men do not indulge in cosmetic treatments and only seek fast and long-lasting help. The Julia O’Dwyer Clinic is pleased to be able to offer this fantastic treatment to our clients.

Density Fill

If clients suffer from thinning hair,  density treatments – where tiny follicle simulations are strategically placed between the existing hairs – to camouflage the naturally light skin tone of the scalp, minimising the contrast between scalp and hair colour, giving the appearance of fuller, more voluminous hair.

This can also be used for clients who have had a hair transplant and the hair still has an insufficient density or in the areas of the donor sites where the hair was taken. This is especially popular with men with dark hair and a light complexion, as the contrast is very noticeable. By adding colour, the contrast is reduced, and a thicker look is created.

Full Head

The most common form of hair loss in males is male pattern baldness, also known as Androgenetic Alopecia. At least 50% of the male population is believed to show first signs of this hair loss by age 20.

Male pattern baldness usually starts with a receding hairline and follows through to the crown. In advanced stages, the typical horseshoe bald patch often occurs on the crown alongside the receded hairline and thinning temples. It is a hereditary condition usually linked to a hormone called Dihydrotestosterone, which causes the hair shafts to get thinner until they fall out.

Scar Camouflage

After a hair transplant, some clients find that the results are not always as good as they hoped for, or they can be left with many small scars following FUE transplants or a long scar following FUT transplants. These noticeable post-surgery scars are known to cause anxiety to the client due to the negative focus they command. Scalp Micropigmentation can be used to camouflage these scars very effectively, rendering them virtually undetectable.

Any form of scar can be covered with Scalp Micropigmentation, including contracture (burn) scars, scars caused by previous illnesses and surgical scars.

FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) leaves linear scars that, most of the time run from side to side and depending on how many donor hairs were required, there can be multiple scars over the top of each other.

The more modern and now more commonly used method is FUE (Follicle Unit Extraction) which leaves lots of small dots spread over the whole donor area.

It is very effective to cover these scars with Scalp Micropigmentation and the results are usually undetectable.

It can also cover any other scars, including surgical ones.

According to the National Alopecia Areata Foundation “over 147 million people worldwide have or will develop Alopecia Areata.” This is an autoimmune disorder that results in unpredictable hair loss, often appearing in numerous round patches all over the scalp. People suffering from hair loss illnesses such as Alopecia Areata or even Alopecia Totalis / Universalis (total hair loss) are deeply affected by the dramatic changes in their appearance.

Thanks to Scalp Micropigmentation, there is now a solution for those suffering from these conditions. Other common reasons for hair loss are wearing hair in a tight ponytail for a long time or having braided hair. This is also known as Traction Alopecia. The answer to the described alopecia patients is an SMP technique which is applied by implanting tiny natural pigment deposits into the dermal layer of the skin to resemble the look of hair follicles. It is a form of cosmetic tattooing, however, the colours applied are more shaded than tattooing colours and the technique is specifically developed for the very sensitive scalp tissue.

Hair Transplant Improvement

In some cases even successful hair transplant procedures will not leave you with the desired density, this may be due to the transplanted hair being rejected or insufficient amounts of donor hair being available; therefore a Scalp Micropigmentation Density Fill will create the desired level of density.

If you were unlucky enough to have received treatment elsewhere that was not performed correctly or did not achieve your desired outcome; we may be able to correct this. An in person consultation will be necessary so that one of our skilled Practitioners will be able to advise you on the best way forward, whether this is to correct it by adding additional density or blending. In severe cases, we will be able to refer you to one of our trusted Laser Practitioners.

Hair Growth Solutions

In some cases scalp micropigmenttation might not be the first option we recommend – hair growth treatments might be a better option, and in some cases – especially with density treatments, we might recommend hair growth treatments alongside scalp micropigmentation.

Treatments like PRP or IPRF Bio Revitalisation together with a course of Vitamins might be a great treatment to support your journey.
